LC-X Uniboot Easy Reverse Connector
One of the most compelling design elements of our uniboot that separate it from other designs in the market is the ability to swap polarity without having to use a separate tool or break the connector apart.
Easily Switch/ eXchange the Polarity (A to B/B to A) Without Tools
1). Locate trigger housing on LC-X Uniboot connector and pull towards the boot.
2). Once trigger housing is resting on the boot turn each LC connector to the outside 180 degrees one at a time.
3). Complete the polarity swapping process by turning the resting trigger housing 180 degrees around boot and click into LC until you hear a click.
When properly reversed you will notice X-CHG in text at the base of the uniboot body above the boot.
This process should take under 15 seconds.
LC-X Uniboot Pitch Change
Another important feature offered by our LC-X uniboot connector is the ability to change pitch to meet different transceiver or switch requirements.
To achieve successful pitch swapping please follow along to the steps below.
1.) Remove trigger housing and let rest on boot to properly identify the side of the LC-X to change polarity. The correct side will be the side without the X-CHG markings on the bottom of the connector housing.
2.) Once the correct side is identified, pinch and push up on the LC’s until pitch piece is broken off from tail.
3.) At this point there are two pitch options; the industry standard pitch of 6.25mm or the mini style 5.25mm pitch. You can tell the difference by looking at the notches on the clip. The 6.25mm pitch has two notches while the 5.25mm (mini) pitch side has only one.
4.) After determining desired pitch flip and push down onto LC backposts until it snaps back into the uniboot housing.
*Note: It is important to maintain pinch of LC connectors during the changing of pitch as it keeps the fiber in line.
This process can be completed without the use of any tools because of the metal backpost on our LC which allow you to dismantle the pitch piece of our LC uniboot without effecting the fibers. It also allows you to retro-fit the LC-X connectors to fit into all applications.
