History
Fiberon Inc. (Fiberon) was incorporated in the State of Washington in1995 by Mr. Sam Lee, a highly respected and well known fiber optic design engineer with over 20 years of experience. An affiliated company, Fiberon Technology Inc. (Fiberon Tech) was incorporated in the State of Washington in1998 also by Mr. Lee. Both companies have focused almost exclusively on the design, development and manufacture of passive fiber optic interconnect components for well over 13 years.
In late 1996, Mr. Lee was approached by senior members of the Senko Group based in Japan, regarding Senko's intention to enter into the fiber optic interconnect business. By mid-1997, the company Senko Advanced Components, Inc. (SAC) was formed in the State of Massachusetts and Fiberon was selected as it's primary engineering and manufacturing partner.
For the next 7 years, Fiberon enjoyed enormous success , both through it's key relationship with SAC as well as through it's own intentionally limited sales efforts to several well known west coast companies. Fiberon was awarded over 10 domestic and international patents during this period pertaining to passive fiber optic products and built up significant manufacturing assets in Asia.
By mid-2004, the founder (Mr. Lee) decided to take early retirement and concentrate primarily on various consulting opportunities. Senior members of SAC negotiated with Mr. Lee of Fiberon concerning the use of selected manufacturing and IP assets of Fiberon and this was transacted in December of 2004.
In early 2010, several Senior members of SAC discussed with Mr. Lee the significant opportunities at Fiberon and they joined the board of Fiberon/Fiberon Tech in March, 2010.
